Kindergarten at Wild Wonders
Where Real School Starts, But Still Feels Like an Adventure
Kindergarten at Wild Wonders is where formal academics begin. Students learn to read, write, and work with numbers through hands-on projects, daily farm time, and creative play. The structure picks up from TK, but the spirit stays the same: get outside, get your hands dirty, and fall in love with learning along the way.

What They're Learning
Kindergarteners are building the skills that everything else will stand on. Reading, writing, math, and learning how to be part of a group.
Our teachers use phonics-based reading instruction, hands-on math, and meaningful writing practice alongside project-based units that tie it all together. Each year includes three project-based learning units that connect academic content to real experiences on the farm and in nature.
-

Early Reading Skills
Phonics-based instruction in small groups where every child gets the support they need. Kids learn to read by actually reading, not just drilling letter sounds.
-

Math Foundations
Number sense, counting, simple operations, and problem-solving taught through real objects and real situations. Math makes more sense when you can hold it in your hands.
-

Project-Based Learning
Three units per year that weave academic subjects together around a theme. These projects give kids a reason to read, write, count, and think.
-

Nature & Outdoor Education
Daily time on the farm caring for animals, exploring the property, and noticing how the natural world works. This isn't extra. It's central to how we teach.
-

Creative Expression
Art, music, storytelling, and imaginative play. These aren't fillers between "real" subjects. They're how five-year-olds make sense of what they're learning.

Why Wild Wonders for Kindergarten?
✓ Academics That Make Sense – Reading, writing, and math are taught through projects and experiences that feel connected to real life, not isolated drills.
✓ Small Class, Strong Relationships – Your child's teacher knows their strengths, where they struggle, and what gets them excited. That kind of attention changes everything.
✓ Outside Every Single Day – Rain or shine, kindergarteners spend significant time outdoors on the farm. It's good for their bodies, their focus, and their mood.
✓ The Whole Child, Not Just the Report Card – Academic growth matters, and so does learning to be kind, to keep trying, and to work alongside other kids. We teach all of it.
