Transitional Kindergarten at Wild Wonders
A Gentle Start to School Life on the Farm
Our TK program is designed for 4-year-olds who are ready for a little structure but still need plenty of room to play. Three days a week, your child will spend time outdoors, help with farm chores, make friends, and start building the habits and confidence they'll carry into kindergarten. Even at this age, our project-based learning themes are woven into their days, connecting play and exploration to bigger ideas.

How They Learn at This Age
At four years old, the best learning doesn't feel like learning. It feels like playing outside, feeding the goats, listening to a story, and painting with a friend. That's exactly how we've built this program. Our project-based learning units provide the framework for what they explore each season, but at this age it looks like play, stories, and discovery rather than formal research or presentations.
-

Outdoor Exploration & Sensory Play
Kids spend real time outside every day. They dig in dirt, splash in puddles, collect rocks, and notice things. The farm gives them endless material to work with.
-

Farm Chores & Animal Care
Even our youngest students help with simple farm tasks. Feeding animals and watering plants teaches responsibility and gives kids a sense of purpose.
-

Creative & Open-Ended Play
Art projects, storytelling, building, pretending. This is where kids process what they're experiencing and start expressing who they are.
-

Social-Emotional Growth
Learning to share, take turns, ask for help, and be a good friend. These are the skills that matter most at this age, and they get practiced all day long.

Why Choose Wild Wonders
for TK?
✓ No Pressure, Real Preparation – This program gets kids ready for kindergarten without rushing them. They build confidence and comfort at their own pace.
✓ Outside Every Day – Your child will spend most of their time outdoors on the farm. Fresh air, open space, and the kind of play that screens can't replace.
✓ Small Group, Big Attention – With a small class size, your child won't get overlooked. Their teacher knows them, sees them, and meets them where they are.
✓ The Whole Kid Matters – We care just as much about how your child treats a friend as we do about whether they can count to ten. Both are part of growing up well.
